I was really itching to get out of the house the past couple of weeks. President’s Day weekend was kind of a bummer for me. It was one of the few times in my life that I really wanted to go out and didn’t have anyone to hang out with. Don’t get me wrong, I love hanging out with Amy, but it has been a while since I had been out. So I decided to give it a go on Friday night.
I lost my iphone several weeks ago during a snow storm when I was down at Mike’s house. The phone must have fallen out of my pocket. Long story short and $540 later, I got a new phone. Miraculously, Boozy found the phone outside Mike’s house on Friday and it still works! That is incredible. It has been -5 to 55 degrees over the past couple of weeks with snow and rain and the phone is still in great condition! Look for that phone on craigslist soon. Boozy gave me a call late Friday afternoon to let me know that he found the phone. I decided to head down there Friday night to pick up the phone. I drank a couple beers with him and Shawn came over around 9:30 pm. Mike came home from work around midnight. After several games of ping pong we headed over to Juniors around 1:00 am. We stayed out until around 3:45 and I was home around 4:00. It was a pretty good time.
Saturday morning Amy and I had an appointment with our insurance agent to purchase life insurance. With the little guy on the way we figured it would be a good time to purchase it. When you actually start walking through some pretty scary scenarios I guess this becomes a necessary evil. After meeting with Alice (insurance agent) we headed over the Babies R Us to register for the baby shower. This was surprisingly a good time. I didn’t know what to expect. I really had no concept of the amount of items you need for a baby. It makes you wonder how they raised a child back in the day. After about 2 hours or so we finally decided to call it quits because we were both exhausted.
After grabbing some lunch at our house I went over to Rich’s house to help him install a new bathroom vanity, lights and a receptacle. It took a couple hours but we managed to get most of it done. Amy stopped down a couple hours later and we ordered pizza and wings. Later that night I headed over to Shea’s with Mike for Zach and Katie’s engagement gathering. I think I was over tired at this point. I found myself to be in one of those really quiet moods. I hate when I get like that. At around midnight I headed down to the Victory Cafe and soon realized that I was just plain tired. I ended up home around 1:30 am.
Sunday was semi-uneventful. I had to run a couple of errands with Amy during the day. I ended up over at my parents later on that night. I helped my father install his new television. I guess the fun never ends. After some sleep it was back to grind at work on Monday. For those that care, there it is!
